Principal’s Corner
Dear Parents/Guardians,

We are pleased to welcome three new staff members to RMS this month.

Cafe Manager: Vic Baughman

Victoria Baughman joined us last week in the cafe and will be filling in for Ken while he is out for a short time.  Vic ran the Ray School cafeteria for many years and enjoyed bringing healthy food to the many children there.  Vic lives in Etna with her husband Eric and two boys Charlie (9th grade) and Will (7th grade).

School Counselor: Wendy Kares

Wendy Kares was raised in Storrs, CT and worked in college admissions in Washington, DC before completing her graduate degree in Educational Psychology from the University of Connecticut. She was a middle school counselor and cross country coach at Mary Institute and St. Louis Country Day School in St. Louis, MO and returned to New England in 2009 when her husband, Ken Rumelt, began teaching at Vermont Law School.  Locally, Wendy spent four years as a counselor at Hartford Middle School before the birth of her youngest child. She has a 9-year-old son and 2-year-old daughter and enjoys hiking, cooking, and skiing with her family. Wendy will be serving as a RMS counselor while Liz Powers is out on leave.

Receptionist/Attendance: Deb Movizzo

Deb recently relocated with her husband and three sons from Virginia Beach, Virginia.  She enjoys all the outdoor activities the Upper Valley has to offer, especially walking the trails with her pugs. She is looking forward to putting down roots in Hanover and getting to know and serve in her new community. Deb is filling the receptionist position that opened up with Julia Wybourne's retirement last month.

Please do welcome our new staff if you have the opportunity.

Sincerely,

Michael Lepene
Principal

RMS Notes and Information

-Next week 6th and 7th grade Social Studies classes will visit the Orozco Murals at Dartmouth College. The tour will be led by docents from the Hood Museum. Students in the 6th grade have been studying the history of the Americas from pre-history through European contact, while 7th graders are studying 19th century American History. We are excited about this opportunity for our students to make curricular connections and deepen understanding of content through this epic masterpiece. Permission slips will be coming home with students on Monday.
