Principal's Corner

Dear Parents/Guardians,

Today was our annual "Colors Day" event at RMS. Many of us remember our field day activities in school and this is much like it. In addition to the traditional sports activities we have a whole host of fun including cooking and bbq competitions, preschool games, Mariocart, board and quiz games, recycled fashion show, tug-of-war, picnic lunch, spirit challenges, and much more.

An important aspect of the day's design is the mixing of students across grade and friend groups into color teams. One of my favorite things about the day is driving through town in the morning and seeing all the bright colored outfits at the bus stops. I think the community knows our students are headed to a great day.

Sportsmanship, teamwork, spirit, service, and fun are all at the core of our Colors Day. We hope that they are also themes that are woven throughout the school year and believe they share equal importance alongside our other goals. I hope that your child enjoyed the day as much as I know the staff did.

Have a great weekend!

Michael Lepene
