A message from RICHMOND MIDDLE SCHOOL
Frances C. Richmond Middle School Friday Focus
Thank you to the students and staff who helped make our Empty Bowls project a success last night. We were able to raise roughly $600 for Willing Hands and had over 100 people attend and enjoy dinner at our 6th and 7th grade Open House.
Thank you to all of the RMS families who joined us for the 6th and 7th grade Open House last night. We hope you enjoyed the opportunity to visit with staff, view student work, and socialize over some dinner.
we have our annual Children Helping Children (CHC) dance at RMS. This dance serves as a fundraiser for a charity selected by our students and is an annual tradition. The student council has been working to add some special events to the evening including a dunk tank, outdoor dance, games, and more. The dance runs from 700p to 900p and is for current RMS students only. Entry is $5 and students may also wish to have some extra cash for snacks/drinks and some of the games. Like all of our dances students must be present in school today to attend as well.
This year we are donating the money we raise at the CHC dance to SOS Children's Villages in Nepal and "Hope North" an organization that provides education and support for ex child soldiers in Uganda. This was one of the groups that emerged from the Power of Me work in grade 7 (see last week's Focus for a Power of Me overview).
We hope our students have a great time for a great cause. I know many are looking forward to seeing Mr. Lacrosse in the dunk tank, current water temp of 52 degrees!
