A message from RICHMOND MIDDLE SCHOOL
Dear RMS Parents and Guardians:
Recent TCE tests at Richmond Middle School have remained at the "non-detect" or trace level, however, an unusually high reading in the cafeteria was discovered this afternoon that has been determined to be the result of a foreign agent, i. e. leaky refrigerant, coolant, or mechanics/workers with TCE on their clothing. The Army Corps of Engineers will be at RMS throughout the night and feel confident they can isolate the source and remove any residual TCE before the start of school. Nevertheless, we are prepared to close the cafeteria for the day as a precaution, but if by 6:30 AM all testing yields a non-detect, we will open the cafeteria for normal daily operation. In the unlikely event the cafeteria has to remain closed, we will provide pizzas for staff and students.
We apologize for this inconvenience and late notice, but we learned of this less than a few hours ago.
Any questions or concerns, please don't hesitate to call or write the superintendent, Frank Bass at 643-6050 firstname.lastname@example.org or RMS Principal, Michael Lepene, 643-6040 email@example.com.
