+Principal’s Corner

Dear Parents/Guardians,

Today I was able to spend time in every classroom at the Richmond Middle School (43 visits!). I observed classes engaged in productive learning opportunities, students collaborating on projects and engaged in discussions, groups designing, building and testing prototypes, and teachers leading learning through designed activities. Sometimes people wonder what classes might look like in the day or days before a school vacation. After today, I can say with certainty that at RMS we are making the most of our time together. I'm proud of our students, staff and the RMS community. Great things happen here every day. As a principal and educator that is truly something I can be thankful for.

I hope that you and your family have an enjoyable Thanksgiving break. We look forward to welcoming your children back to school on Monday.

-Congratulations to Catherine Patch who was elected as the Vice President of Physical Education for the state of New Hampshire last week at the annual state conference. She will serve a three year term working for the New Hampshire Association of Health, Physical Education, Recreation and Dance and with the Department of Education and teachers around the state. She will be advocating for PE in schools, writing articles for newsletters, helping plan the state conference, learning from and teaching other NH PE teachers.

-Team Rubix Cubix, a Richmond Middle School robotics team, invites you to learn how to solve the Rubik's Cube!  We will hold a fundraiser for the team's trip to Nashua for the First Lego League State Robotics Competition this Sunday, November 30 at the Dartmouth Bookstore on Main Street in Hanover from 2-3:30 pm.  Stop in, make a small donation, and our team members will teach you the strategy behind mastering the cube!  All proceeds go toward team travel costs and the cost of creating an app to teach the Rubik's Cube.
